THE HISTORY OF THE BAND

It all began when Jack asked me if I wanted to be in a punk band. I knew of U.S. Chaos but had never seen them play. I had listened to a few songs that they recorded during practice on a portable tape deck a few weeks earlier and I thought they were pretty good. Their singer had quit (Ron) and they needed a replacement. At first I said no but when Gary asked me, I told him I would try out. So they gave me an audition. I sucked, but no one else tried out, so I was in! That's where U.S. Chaos started for me, although they had been writing songs and rehearsing in the basement  for months but never playing out.  It was the winter of 1982-83 and we practiced and wrote a few more songs and in March of 1983 we were asked to play at a party at Aldo's Hideaway in Lyndhurst N.J. That was our first gig. The lineup was Skully on vocals, (that's me) Jack on bass, Gene on the drums, Gary on guitar and Brian (HC) on the other guitar. Oh yeah, let us not forget Freddy L. our manager for years and years. (below left)

In 1992 we decided to do a "reunion gig" at a party. We did one of those every year until 1995 when we decided to start doing this for real again. From 96 to 97 the line up was Gary guitar, Jack bass, Spiky drums and Skully vocals.

We then kicked Spiky out of the band AGAIN (sorry Spike) and convinced Eddie Enzyme to join us AGAIN.

UPDATE! Eddie Enzyme quits the band September 2005 after a really shitty show at the Quiet Woman in Hoboken. We all decide to call it quits...for now.

November 4th, 2007:

Well, a lot has changed since my last entry. Gary passed away April 17, 2007 and at the time we all thought (at least I did) that was it for Chaos. It was a very sad first half of 2007. The last thing though, that Gary had said to me was "rock on". Those words will always stick in my mind. Although at the time I really did not believe Gary would not make it. A couple of weeks later he passed away. We still miss you Gary!!!

In the summer of 2007 Jack called me and asked me if I wanted to do a U.S Chaos show at his house/pool party. Reluctantly I say yes. He tells me that Spikey will be the drummer (welcome back Spike) and that Buddy Vern would be playing guitar. We rehearsed a few times and played on August 26th poolside at Jacks house. A few weeks later we did a show at the Meat Locker. That show also went well. We tried to get together to rehearse again but Buddy had been very busy with his ten million jobs he works, so...

Jack decides to call Renee Wasted from the Blanks77 and ask her if she would like to play guitar. Jack tells me she said "of course I would." For those of you who dont know, Renee is Garys sister!!! The first rehearsal is amazing. Renee comes down with Gary's Les Paul and starts playing like she's been in the band for the past 25 years.

Skully-Vocals. Jack- Bass. Spikey-Drums. Renee-Guitar

And that's where we stand today.
